I had the honor of photographing this beautiful girl when she was just days old, at 4 months and then just recently on the cusp of her second birthday (see the first image spread). She was delightful to photograph each and every time and to see how much she has grown, yet stayed the same is such a wonderful experience for me as a photographer. Sienna has such expressive eyes and a giggle that is contagious. I had so much fun with her and grandma!

February 13, 2012Across the border | Buffalo, NY family photographer
August 10, 2011I was thrilled to be able to go across the border to Canada and photograph this family as they vacationed at the Buffalo Yacht Club in Point Abino. The weather and light were perfect and the setting was gorgeous. The children were so wonderful to photograph…they made each other laugh and were always ready with a smile.
It’s Friday and that means it’s time to share how I and the other photographers participating in this year-long photographic journey interpreted independence. I just love the Fourth of July; it is so special to see how our nation comes together to celebrate its birthday and the beautiful gift of freedom we have here in the USA. I was inspired by how the fabulous Nicole Hill Gerulat (A Little Sussy) photographed a Fourth of July party for Real Simple. I knew I wanted to try something similar with my sweet guy Luke.
I hope you had a lovely Fourth of July weekend. Now, you can head on over to see how Jessica Richter photographed her beautiful children in an Independence Day parade.
I love black and white photography, so this week’s theme for myself and the 17 other photographers on this year-long photo journey was perfect. My sweet middle son and I had a little photo shoot the other day.
He is my prince.
I love him so.
If you enjoy black and white photography as much as I do, you will love to see what the other photographers in our group captured this week. You can begin by visiting the fabulous, Sarah.
Mustache man | Clarence, NY child photographer
January 19, 2011I think this mustache was made for this boy. He definitely loves to dress up and totally hams it up for the camera. I love to photograph him.

Family love | East Amherst, NY family photographer
November 14, 2010This family was just filled with love for each other. The boys were so kind to one another and such good listeners. I could see how much they love their mama. They made my job so easy with these beautiful smiles.

Bringing so much joy | Clarence, NY family photographer
November 9, 2010I had such an amazing experience photographing these two beautiful girls. They were adopted by a lovely family and arrived from Ethiopia less than a month ago. They amazed me with their unabashed joy and love. They were filled with smiles and fascination and an incredible power to communicate despite the language barrier. What a gift they are to their new family!

Delightful | Clarence, NY family photographer
November 7, 2010Although the air was crisp and it was a bit chilly outside, these two beautiful children were troopers. It was a joy to take their photos. Mom had them dressed perfectly and big sister was the perfect model and helper!

Family love & joy | Kenmore, NY family photographer
October 31, 2010This photo is so special because it captures this lovely family…their love and their joy. I have known this beautiful mom for 15 years now and the smile you see in this photo is totally her. She is an amazing mother who has taught me so much about the kind of mom I want to be and hope I am. She is the most patient woman I know. She loves her boys (all three of them) with such passion and I am so lucky to call her my friend.

Look at this face…those eyes…that smile.

Is there anything better than a brother? These two love each other…they were so great together!

Mama and her boys…a soft spot in my heart for such images.

Love you, Liza!
