It’s Friday and that means another installment of my photographic take on a specific theme along with 16 fellow photographers. This week our theme was ‘looking in…’ What a great prompt; it lends itself to so many various interpretations. I chose to photograph my son spending some quality alone time in his room. As you can see in the first image, he is framed by the door and door frame. I love these quiet moments (they are rare here) when my children are content, doing their own thing.
I am excited to see how my photographer friends interpreted this theme as well. You can use this link to head on over to see the fabulous Shea Parker | Clinton, Mississippi Family Photographer and how she chose to photograph ‘looking in.’

Love these, Melissa. Love watching kids getting serious and intently focusing on a book! Looks like Lego Star Wars, maybe?
These are great! I am loving the way the doorframe gives a fading effect on the top photo. That looks so neat.
Love these, Melissa!!! I need to take more of these kind of shots!
Melissa- these are sweet and I agree with Emily I like the effects the doors have on the shot. I need to try this out soon…. Add another to my list!
great shots! I love how you “framed” him in the first one. Your black and white conversions are great!
My kids would have totally caught me doing this! The door frame really adds to that first shot.
